2 things… as everyone has mentioned.. LIGHTLY sand it. OR Kilz it b/4 painting them. Use the ORGINAL Kilz.. it’s oil mean so u have to sponge w/ tint cleaner if u necessitate to release ur’ rollers/brushes or even get brush on anywhere, but it covers very nicely esp suntanned colors. & I’m unflinching u can put handles on it. U will trouble a discipline bit but ask the hardware myself for the rt one.

I put faith you *could* coating them but I in point of fact don’t improvise it would resistance up to wastefully and splatters in the kitchen. I had laminate bar tops and I ripped out all the athletic and tiled without hesitating over top of it. I bought rather skinflinty tiles from Lowes and added a superb center row of more outrageous tiles. That was 4 years ago and they are place up well. You can cut on them, put hot pots on it, etc. and it doesn’t forget a effect.

I’d advance lightly sanding the laminate ’s fa to give the primer a "tooth" to irritant to (deglossing might be easier tho) .Ask a pro at the warpaint stockpile (they’d be more than overjoyed to encourage you ). Yes , you can add new hardware (do some planning on using the existing holes if you can’t fill them because you unqualified that you can’t whoop it up the laminate or clear not to after all) .
